Munich ([ˈmʏnçən]?; Bavarian: Minga) is the capital and largest city of the German state of Bavaria, and with 1,488,202 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2020)[1] the third-largest city in Germany. Munich is a district-free city and is one of the most important economic and cultural centres in the Federal Republic of Germany.
